Librarians are one of the best resources at the SHU Library whether you are trying to find something specific or just need help getting started with an assignment. There are a few ways to get in touch with us.
Librarians are available at scheduled times at the reference desk, which is located on the main level of the library. The reference desk is where you can ask a librarian questions related to using library resources. You can see the reference desk hours by clicking the “Reference Desk Hours” tab on the library’s home page.
You can also call us at the reference desk. All our contact information is available by clicking on the “Ask A Librarian” link in the “Popular Links” box on the library’s homepage. If no one answers the phone, please leave us a message and someone will get back to you as soon as possible. You can also email us using the email@example.com email address.
Librarians are now available to chat online. On any of the library’s web pages, you will see a blue “Ask Us” tab on the right-hand side. When you click on it, the tab will pop out with a text box where you can enter your question.
This starts a chat with the librarian on duty. Chat hours are the same as our reference desk hours. If it states that the chat is offline, there will be a link to a page where you can search our FAQ to see if your question was already answered.
