Post Migration Errors

The Migration from EGS to Pure was not seamless.  There were many errors that you may encounter.  Listed on this page are some of the common errors you might find.

1.  Incorrect start date

If your start date is incorrect, this occurred because your old profile did not have a start date.  During the migration, Pure defaulted to a start date of 1/1/2024.

2.  Incorrect publication date

Like the start date, this occurred because the date was missing or only the year was populated.

3.  Contribution to journal: Peer-reviewed vs Not peer-reviewed

Since peer-reviewed was not a field indicator in EGS, there is no guarantee that the selection is correct.  Please check all articles to ensure that the correct peer-reviewed indictor is selected.

4.   Incorrect or Not preferred Content type

You change the type of Scholarship but cannot change the category from scholarship to another category like Prizes or Activities.  To change an incorrect type, click Change template.  Important note- You must change this first or you will not be allowed to save any other changes.

To correct:

  • Click on Change template
  • Find the appropriate category then content area & type
    • For this example it is non-textual form & digital and visual products
  • Once you click on the content type, it will change.

5.  Some of your research outputs say 'default journal'

This occurred because there wasn't a journal title listed on the old profile so the migration resulted in a default setting,  If a incorrect content type was chosen either by you or from the migration, the default journal field will occur even if it doesn't apply to the record.

You can change it by following the instructions below:

  • For a journal article, scroll down the record page and add the journal
  • click save
  • if the content type is incorrect and doesn't require a journal title, you can remove the field by clicking the line
  • click save

6.  Migrated theses and dissertations

There are two templates for theses and dissertation; Master Thesis and Doctoral Thesis.  If the wrong option was selected, you can correct it by following the directions below

  • Click Change template
  • Choose thesis
  • Select Doctoral or Master's
  • Save

Please note, the Digitization and Scholarly Publications Manager is trying her best to check and clean up all data.
