Importing from External Sources
Pure allows for the import of a variety of external sources:
- Scopus
- Digital Commons
- Google Scholar
- PubMed
- EBSCO Databases
- Crossref
1. Import from Google Scholar:
- You must have a Google Scholar profile. Login and click my profile

- Click Select All box or individually choose and click Export
- In the drop down menu, select 'Bib TeX'

- Export articles box will appear. Select 'export all articles' or 'export selected articles

- Once selected, click 'Export'
- Save the .txt file
- From your profile, 'Add new' button
- Choose research output type
- Select 'Import from file'. Select Bib Tex and either upload paste text
2. Import from Scopus:
- Publications are automatically imported from Scopus on a weekly basis
3. Import from Digital Commons*
- Click +Add new button
- Select Research & Scholarship
- Select Import from online source
- Click Digital Commons
- Type the author name in the box
- Click the Search button

- Browse the search result page
- Click import on the desired result

- Review the author and organization information on the import review screen. This will list external and internal authors. Click import and review button to go to the next screen
- This is the final submission screen. You can edit the author and organization screen. Double check the content type and template.

- When done you can mark the submission "for approval" then click the Save button.

Automated Searches:
Automated searches is different from Import. You can enable an automated search that will be run weekly.
- Login to profile
- Click Edit Profile
- Click the Automated search tab in the left navigation. You can also choose to be notified by email if candidates are found

- Listed are the available online sources, turn 'On' for all you want to enable

- Automated searches are based on the authors’ names on publications, or ORCID/Scopus IDs
- You will have the option to Import your publications or Reject them
- Click Save at the bottom of your screen to save your changes
