Here is a small sample of some of the journals available through the library's databases. Instead of browsing individual journals it is recommended that you use the library's QuickSearch or subject databases.

Our library subscribes to over 100 journal databases (A-Z List of Databases).  The Subject-Focused Databases concern topics central to the study of Human Development.  The Multi-Disciplinary Databases cover a full range of subjects, including Human Development.

Social Data Repositories - In addition to developing your own data, many researchers have contributed data files to open-access repositories, allowing other researchers to view, compare, and use that data in their analyses.

Mental Health: A Report of the Surgeon General The report is the outgrowth of the first White House Conference on Mental Health in 1999.  "This report recognizes the inextricably intertwined relationship between our mental health and our physical health and well-being. The report emphasizes that mental health and mental illnesses are important concerns at all ages." (Foreward by Nelba Chavez, Ph.D.).  The report is viewable online and available as a downloadable PDF.


Mental Health: Culture, Race, and Ethnicity: A Supplement to Mental Health: A Report of the Surgeon General (2001). "This Supplement was undertaken to probe more deeply into mental health disparities affecting racial and ethnic minorities. . . .  This Supplement covers the four most recognized racial and ethnic minority groups in the United States. According to Federal classifications, African Americans (blacks), American Indians and Alaska Natives, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders and white Americans (whites) are races. Hispanic American (Latino) is an ethnicity and may apply to a person of any race." (Executive Summary).  The report is viewable online and available as a downloadable PDF.
