WGB 612 LUX: A Guide to Finding Online Business Resources: Citation Help

Citing Your Sources

EasyBib

EasyBib is an automatic bibliography and citation maker. Many students are familiar with the free version of EasyBib, but you can now access the full School Edition and create your bibliographies in MLA, APA, & Chicago styles (the free edition of EasyBib only allows MLA).

For those who have already created EasyBib accounts: your account will automatically upgrade to our full school edition after you log into your EasyBib account from campus.

Zotero

Zotero is a free, easy-to-use Firefox extension to help you collect, manage, cite, and share your research sources. It lives right where you do your work—in the web browser itself. You can find a useful guide for using Zotero here: http://libguides.sacredheart.edu/zotero.

Style Guides

In academic writing, it is VERY important to properly cite your sources. This not only provides the original author with the acknowledgement deserved, but also allows your readers to verify your claims. There are a number of different styles to choose from when formatting citations. Sometimes the decision about which style guide to select is made easy: certain styles are discipline-specific, others are preferred by schools, departments, or instructors. The most important aspect, though, is to remain consistant. If you have any questions about which bibliographic style to choose from, contact your course instructor, academic advisor, or a librarian.
