Updates Regarding Library Resources and Services

While face-to-face instruction has moved online for the rest of the Spring semester, the SHU library continues to provide online access to library resources and services to faculty, staff, students. This blog will be kept up-to-date with information regarding library services. For more information about University-wide announcements, see the SHU Community update page.

Physical Space

The Ryan Matura Library and the CHE Library will be closed until further notice. See the hours page for more information.

Library staff continues to provide research help online to faculty, staff, students, and guests.

Online Resources

The SHU Library provides access to a wide variety of online resources to faculty, staff, and students using their SHU username and password. Guests can only access these resources at the library or using SHU wifi. For more information about off-campus access, consult our Off-Campus Library Access page. 

  • QuickSearch allows you to search across the SHU library resources to access newspaper, magazine, and research articles, along with eBooks. 
  • Use Databases by Subject to identify specific databases that are relevant to the subject you are researching. 
  • Read and search through the full-text of eBooks. Click on the Books tab from the library's homepage to search for eBooks.
  • Streaming Video is available through various platforms, including AVON. Click on the Videos tab from the library's homepage to search for videos. 

ILL

Interlibrary Loan staff continues to process requests for electronic materials not available through the SHU library. Physical materials will not be processed at this time. If you currently have loaned materials, you can return them to the drop box outside the entrance of the library.
