Creating Anti-Racist Solutions SymposiumIn August 2022, the School launched the inaugural Creating Anti-Racist Solutions Symposium, welcoming hundreds of participants from across higher education, community-based organizations and the community who are interested in a holistic, solution-focused approach to complex issues.
Each year’s symposium features dynamic presentations from a keynote speaker and leaders, scholars and practitioners who address:
-Advocating for equity
-Identifying and dismantling marginalizing systems
-Building community and a shared vision
In addition to SHU faculty, the 2022 symposium included presenters from Yale University, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Women Against Mass Incarceration, the counseling services Bourne Anew and Awakenings and others.
The second annual symposium will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2023 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart University.
