Educational Leadership - Ed.D.

A guide to support students in the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership program.

You can still access books via the catalog when you are not on the main campus.  By limiting your results to eBooks, you have access to resources anywhere you have an internet connection.

Do the same type of search that you would normally do when looking for a book.  Hit enter to get all the results.  Look at the "Refine by:" box on the left side of your screen.  Scroll down to "Format" and click on eBooks.

Once you locate a book, click on the button that designates it as an eBook.  We have eBooks from numerous providers/publishers, so the button will state "view (name of provider) eBook."  When clicking this button from off-campus, a box will pop up asking for your SHU username and password.  Once entered, you will have access to the eBook.  A few of the eBooks are restricted to a small number of concurrent users so if you get a message stating that the book is not available, try again at a later time.  If you continue to have problems with access, contact the reference desk at

Each provider/publisher has a slightly different method of delivering eBook content.  The easiest format to view is PDF, if it is available.  To download an Ebsco eBook offline requires you to create an account with them to access a device.
