Juvenile Book Award Winners

A brief introduction to Juvenile book awards that we acquire for our collection.

Brief history

This award is sponsored by the Connecticut Library Association and the Connecticut Association of School Librarians.  Originally established in 1993, this award has been broken into several different categories over the years.  Currently, there is an Elementary Award for grades 2-3, an Intermediate Award for grades 4-6, a Middle School Award for grades 7-8 and a High School Award for grades 9-12.  Each year, students in grades 2-12 vote for their favorite title.  The winners are announced annually in May.
