Middle East Region

The Middle East is located in the south-central portion of the Eurasian continent. The countries in this region include Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Cyprus, Georgia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. The West Bank and Gaza Strip are also in this region, however, are not an autonomous nation. Many modern geographers prefer the term Southwest Asia.
