About the Collection
The Ryan-Matura Library holds collections totaling over 140,000 print volumes, 1,900 audiovisual materials, 575 print and 15,000 electronic periodicals, 226,000 microfilms, 35,000 ebooks, and 70 online databases.
Interlibrary Loan
Books, chapters, and articles not possessed by the Ryan-Matura Library can be obtained from other libraries via Ryan-Matura's Interlibrary Loan office. This serfice is provided at no charge to the students and faculty. Forms are available online and at the reference desk. Questions about Interlibrary loans can be directed to (203)371-7705.
Collection Development
Ryan-Matura Library's collection development program is managed by subject specialists who are aided by departmental liaisons. In their selection of books, databases, and other materials, the subject specialists are guided by the needs of Sacred Heart University's teaching and research programs.
