Evaluating web sites for quality of scholarship can be difficult. Here are some good and useful web resources, each of which have already been viewed and evaluated by librarians.


  • American Psychological Association (APA) — The APA's site provides ethics guidelines and other information resources for practicing psychologists, press releases, citations to journal articles, links to the online journal "Monitor on Psychology" and other useful features covering a broad range of topics in the field.

  • AmoebaWeb: Psychology on the Web! — Maintained by Vanguard University of Southern California professor Douglas Degelman, Ph.D, this site has appeared as an APA Monitor on Psychology Website of the month. The site features more than 2000 links to psychology content arranged by subject.

  • Center for Mental Health Services — The United States Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), Center for Mental Health Services site provides topical discussions of mental health issues, press releases and other useful resources.

  • The Internet Public Library (IPL)—Psychology — The IPL's directory for online resources dealing with general psychology, developmental psychology, and mental health.

  • Princeton University Psychology Library, Internet Resources in Psychology and Related Disciplines—This extensive site features dozens of links to sites relevant to Psychology, Social Psychology, Statistics, Job Listings, and many other possible areas of interest.

  • Psychology E-Journals — E-Journals about Psychology.

  • Social Psychology Network — The official Social Psychology Network website.
